Here's a quick, easy and versatile recipe that can serve as a dip or sauce. Serve it with veggies, as the sauce on a wrap (think falafel or veg wrap) or even as salad dressing. This is the basic version, feel free to add on however you like:
Hummus
- 1 can of Garbanzo Beans (aka Chickpeas), drained and rinsed
- Olive Oil
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
- Garlic clove
- Juice of one lemon
- Water (for consistency)
Add all ingredients (minus the olive oil and water) in the blender or food processor. Turn on the appliance and add a splash of water to help the blades turn. Slowly add the olive oil until the mixture is the consistency of paste. Adjust seasonings to taste.
You can add roasted peppers, chilis, rosemary/thyme, cilantro/lime, lemon/dill or whatever your creativity borns.
